My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome boy is Roman! He is a two year old male lab/pit bull mix who is crate and house trained. Roman can be shy at first but when he warms up to you he'll want all your loving. He loves to have his head and belly rubbed the most. He is affection motivated and has been training easily because of it. He knows several commands like, sit, and is working hard to learn the rest. Roman loves the snow and will run crazy through it. Roman loves his people and likes to be near them and to snuggle. He is very cat curious and likes to follow them around trying to play with them. He has been good with other dogs, and can sometimes get jealous if they are getting loves and he's not. He has been good with young children, but his exposure had been limited so older children might be best.

To meet Roman, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application! Dogs are not placed on a first come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Roman's adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationApril 27, 2024, 8:37 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
