My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Francis has a rather heartbreaking start to life… his senior mom fell ill in June and the family that moved her out left him behind. Alone on the now abandoned property, Francis roamed the empty home and yard for months. It wasn’t until he started venturing out to neighbors homes, crying and crying for attention that we were contacted to help.

When we arrived on scene, we could hear is cry’s from inside the now ransacked home. Immediately when we entered the front door, I looked down to find a Saint Francis of Assisi prayer card (patron saint of animals) below my feet. Hence, where he got his now name— Francis. Francis is a sweet, handsome and loving black cat that is looking for a special family to welcome him. Because he is FELV+ he will need to be an only kitty or with other FELV+ kitties. But don’t worry, he is has enough love to go around + whomever welcomes him home is going to be extremely lucky.

Francis is about 3 years old. He is vaccinated, altered, microchipped, snap tested and medically cleared. If you are interested in meeting or learning more about Francis, please consider submitting an application skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications and we would be happy to answer any questions you might have or set up a time for you to meet Francis. He really is the best boy! 💫

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees vary between $165-$350. That includes all medical vetting, UTD vaccines, spay/neuter, lifetime microchip, an escape proof harness lead and collar & tag. Also, since some our dogs are such a huge flight risk, there may be additional steps needing to happen before the adoption is completed.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of passionate animal advocates that specialize in the humane capture and rescue of stray, fearful and injured animals from the streets of Maricopa County. We also assist pet owners as well as other rescue groups to recover their lost animals. We provide our dogs with a safe place to decompress, learn to trust and receive medical treatment until they are ready to find a forever home. The dogs that we take in are typically more difficult to place due to being fearful and high flight risks. Our animals require special adopters who are patient, diligent and very precautionary in order to keep our "trap dogs" safe. These animals are our passion and we will always do what is best for every animal that crosses our path.
