Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there, it's Benji, the all-around amazing low-rider on a quest to find my forever home! Let me tell you what makes me the A+ pup that I am:
First things first—I'm a crate pro! No midnight yelping or barking from me. I snooze through the night and calmly exit the crate without causing a ruckus. House training? Nailing it. No accidents at my fosters' place so far!
I'm a social butterfly with my fellow dogs, so a well-matched companion who's cool with a playful pup like me is just perfect. Cats? I'm chill with them too. The first meeting with a feline friend went well—I showed a bit of interest, did some sniffing, you know, the usual.
Handling me is a breeze—I'm an A+ boy for baths, paws touching, ear cleaning, you name it. I even laid on my side for a nail trim, soaking up the attention like a pro. How impressive is THAT?! Pick me up, reposition me—I'm cool with it all.
Now, when it comes to lounging, I'm the master. Inside the house, you'll find me on the dog beds, perfectly content. Outside, I love soaking up the fresh air and lounging on the cool ground. It’ll be a hard sell to get me back inside!
I'm working on my leash-walking confidence, getting better by the day. I'm more confident when I follow my canine foster sister's lead. So, my ideal adopter(s)? Someone ready for all the joys of having a (slightly older) puppy— which means protecting your shoes, sticking to a potty schedule, and establishing routines to help me gain some confidence.
If you're up for the adventure, I'm ready to be yours! 🐾

Interested in adopting?
1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application
2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call!
3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home
Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.
