My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Noel Joy (Noel for short) and I'm a 7 year old lab mix (with pointer) and weigh 45 pounds. I was rescued by SCLRR from a shelter. The shelter said I'm a stray, but my foster moms think I had a home once because I know sit, stay, shake, and lay down. I'm also housebroken - but love it when you say 'go potty' because I know that means I get to go outside and sniff all the smells. I don't really like playing fetch, but I do like to explore the yard, do my business, and then come back inside to get more snuggles and cuddles. But I'll never say no to a walk! I'm learning to walk better on a leash, just a little patience and time, and I'll be a perfect angel.
I'm a sweet, calm, affectionate girl and love to curl up in ball and be near my humans - and my brother St. Chris. We're a bonded pair. I'm not really sure if he's my actual brother, but I love him just the same. I'm a little calmer than my brother except when it comes to breakfast and dinner. See, I'm a little underweight so I love having regular meals now and looking forward to fattening up. Extra treats are appreciated - I'll take them gently and enjoy! And just like my brother, I don't counter surf, and I'm really respectful in the house - no chewing or destroying things.

While I was at the shelter and was seen by the vet, they discovered some growths on my skin. It was cancer - hemangiosarcoma - but they removed them. Because my skin is so pink, I should wear baby sunscreen when I go adventure in the sun for a longer exposure.

St. Chris and I are a bonded pair and must be adopted together - which means twice the love and affection from both of us
!If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.
