Meet Mavis!
This spunky and loveable girl is about 6 months old! We believe she is a border collie/lab mix and weighs about 30 pounds. As she grows up, we expect her to be somewhere between 50-65 pounds. Mavis has short hair with a smooth, beautiful, black and white coat, She is full of energy and eager to play, explore, receive pets/belly rubs, and say hello to new people, as well as new doggy friends. Miss Mavis has a wonderful, loving, and outgoing personality and is so smart having mastered commands like "sit", "stay", or "come".
Mavis has spent lots of time in a home with three other large dogs, which does not intimidate her in the least! In fact, Mavis LOVES to get the puppy play parties started! She does well with one on one play, as well as in group play. She is crate trained, house broken and will go to the door for potty, and even knows the word "outside".
Mavis is currently allergic to chicken. After consulting with the vet, we switched her food to lamb and she is doing much better! We recommend starting her on a puppy blend of food that does not contain chicken. Mavis is an active and intelligent little girl and would LOVE an active family that will give her the attention, love and exercise she deserves. She would do best in a home that has a fenced in yard. Although we know she does wonderfully with other dogs and also young children, it is unknown at this point if she does well with cats in the house simply because we haven't had the opportunity to test how she would do, but our best guess based on her friendly personality is that she would most likely do great given the proper introduction.
Mavis is being fostered in a private home in the Chicagoland area. Appointments to visit her will be set up for approved adopters only. Her adoption fee is $300 which includes all age appropriate vaccines, which she is up to date on and she is also spayed and microchipped.
