Meet the Pet
Dewey was found starving and rummaging through trash at a campground in the National Forest. He only weighed 32 pounds. He was brought to the shelter and we started him on a feeding regiment giving him small amounts numerous times a day. Dewey was heart worm positive and received treatment once he reached a healthy weight. He also had a severe infection that we treated with antibiotics. Dewey is now a healthy 62 pounds and his blood work shows no signs of infection!
Despite his struggles, Dewey has been a BIG SWEETHEART through everything. He loves affection and just wants to be held and cuddled. He gives us hugs and lays in our laps, even though he is a large dog. Dewey also enjoys playing with other dogs and going for walks. He is house trained, neutered, up to date on shots and ready to find his new family!
If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at www.schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.
