My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rebel is a very independent, sweet puppy.  He came to us with his mother, Lulu and his brother, Rufus.  They all look so different and we have no information regarding Dad.  We think the mother is a Kelpie mix but this little guy looks like he has some lab in him to.  He is a puppy, so not housetrained, but is very good at only going in his outside area.  He loves attention, toys, and all the human contact and love he can get.

UPDATE:  Rebel just entered the Paws In Prison Program on 4/23/24 and will learn obedience training, house training, leash trained, crate trained and learn tricks too.  He is a very smart puppy and very independent so we felt he would benefit from this training.  He will graduate the end of June.  He will be ready for you to visit soon.

If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.

More about this shelter

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 10 individuals and a full-time paid employee shelter manager that handles the day to day operations, and three part-time paid employees that feed and care for the animals and keep the facility clean. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.
