My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Snoop Dogg
Nicknames: Snoop. D O Double G (duh.) Baby Boy. Big Man. Snoop snoop snoop dawg (specifically with the w).
Breed: Long-haired, fluffy Pitbull. Otherwise known as Poodle/Golden/Pitbull. Yes, yes he is.
Age: 1 year
Weight: 80 lbs.
Sex: Male
Before OMD: Brought to the city shelter due to landlord issues. When we heard he was so nervous with the shelter volunteers but kept trying to sweetly give paw, our hearts melted.
Energy Level: Medium. He does have energy (he's only 1 after all!) and he's certainly not as chill as his namesake, but with daily exercise he settles well.
Tag line: He is beauty, but he is not grace.
Descriptors: VGB (very good boy). Good-hearted. Smart. Goofy. Awkward.
What we love most: Well of course the whole "I'm nervous. I'm unsure. I don't know you and I don't know what to do, so I will give you my paw" clincher. When he stares up at his person until they start petting him and he leans into the pets. His zooming skills.
What he loves most: Cuddles (he's determined to be a lap dog). Pets. Treats. Balls.
Working on: He is a smart cookie so he's picking up on commands and tricks quickly. He takes treats gently. Dream on leash...after you finish the chase game of trying to first get him on the leash.
Dogs: Yep! He has played in daycare many times. He was initially a mounter with certain dogs, but we are hopeful his recent neuter will fix that.
Cats: Not yet tested.
Kids: Dog-savvy older kids only since he has not interacted with kids while in rescue and he is still working on his exuberance and jumping when excited
House-trained: Snoop is currently hanging at one of our boarding/daycare partners and we can't say for sure what his level of housebreaking will be when he integrates back into a home. His family should be prepared to take him out frequently initially and build a routine.
Crate trained: Yes!

Snoop Dogg is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT, IL, and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.

Additional adoption info

One More Dog Rescue (OMD), formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, requires all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application and agree to a home visit prior to any adoption. Once the application is approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled between the potential adopter (s) and the dog.

When a dog is adopted through One More Dog, an adoption contract must be signed, and we ask that a donation in the amount of $500 ($350 for seniors) be made at the time of adoption to help our rescue cover a portion of the costs we incur through pull fees, vetting, and training.

Applications can be found here: http://www.omdrescue.org/adoptapp.html
*We will adopt to approved applicants (who are able to meet & adopt in person) who live in CT and the surrounding areas: New England, New York, and New Jersey.
