Rescue FAQs

One More Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless dogs. Founded in 2012, we are passionate about savings dogs - no matter the breed, age, or physical condition - who come from shelters or are relinquished by their owners, both in the Connecticut and Illinois areas. We are devoted to providing the best possible care for our dogs and finding appropriate, loving homes with families who will be dedicated to them for a lifetime.
One More Dog Rescue Inc, formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails.
We are a Connecticut based 501c3 dog rescue that will adopt to approved applicants (who are able to meet & adopt in person) who live in CT and the surrounding areas: New England, New York, and New Jersey.

Additional adoption info

One More Dog Rescue (OMD), formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, requires all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application and agree to a home visit prior to any adoption. Once the application is approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled between the potential adopter (s) and the dog.

When a dog is adopted through One More Dog, an adoption contract must be signed, and we ask that a donation in the amount of $500 ($350 for seniors) be made at the time of adoption to help our rescue cover a portion of the costs we incur through pull fees, vetting, and training.

Applications can be found here: http://www.omdrescue.org/adoptapp.html
