My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy post...email Daniel at brown.danielalbert@gmail.com to meet Bjorn

Pet's Name: Bjorn Breed: American Bulldog/Dogo Argentino mix Age: 6 years old Weight: 85 lbs Neutered: Yes

Health Condition: Bjorn suffers from severe allergies that have impacted his overall well-being. Despite efforts such as allergy testing and various food changes, his condition has not improved. The veterinarian recommends specific medication and a raw diet to manage his allergies, but the owner, Daniel, is unable to afford these treatments due to financial constraints. As a result, Bjorn's quality of life has significantly diminished, and he is currently experiencing discomfort and suffering.

Behavior and Temperament: Bjorn is a friendly, affectionate, and well-behaved dog. He is good with people of all ages, including children. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, displaying no signs of aggression throughout the 5 years and 3 months that Daniel has owned him. He is house trained and has learned a variety of commands and tricks, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. His favorite activity is playing fetch with his chuck-it ball. Additionally, he is not an excessive barker.

Current Vaccination Status: Bjorn is up to date on his rabies vaccine, and he has received the full series of distemper vaccines in the past.

Reason for Surrender: Daniel is surrendering Bjorn because of financial difficulties. Due to a significant cut in income, Daniel is unable to provide the necessary medical care and specialized diet that Bjorn requires to manage his allergies. Daniel is making this difficult decision out of love for Bjorn, not wanting to see him suffer any longer.

Ideal Adopter: We are looking for a loving and responsible adopter who can provide the necessary medical care and support for Bjorn's allergies. Experience with allergy management in dogs, especially with a raw diet, would be beneficial. The ideal adopter should have the financial means to cover ongoing medical expenses and be committed to maintaining a high quality of life for Bjorn.

Additional Information: Training: Knows commands such as sit, lay down, roll over, high five, stay, jump spin, crawl, and can be trained to pee and poo on command. Favorite Activity: Enjoys playing fetch with a chuck-it ball. Personality: Affectionate, friendly, and well-behaved.

Contact Information for Adoption: If you are interested in adopting Bjorn and providing him with the care he needs, please contact Daniel at brown.danielalbert@gmail.com.

Thank you for considering giving Bjorn a loving home and a chance at a better quality of life

***Disclaimer*** Unfortunately, there are not enough rooms at the inn to admit every dog that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those dogs (and cats) on their journey! By courtesy posting, AAHA is offering our website/network as an additional resource to help an owner or shelter gain additional exposure for the dog they are trying to place. AAHA has not met nor evaluated the dog (or cat) we are courtesy posting. AAHA makes no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health and temperament and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the caretaker of the pet and the potential adopter.May 2, 2024, 9:53 am

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
