My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy post...we got a desperate plea for help from Sarah. We are sad that toy guarding that is probably due to stress since not exhibited in the home at all might cost this baby his life Please share and if you are able to adopt Chance please contact Sarah ASAP. He is a friendly, almost 2yo pitty surrendered out of desperation to Talbot County Shelter a few weeks ago due to family needing to move, landlord not accepting pet. He is been with his owner since he was a young puppy. Family states that 'he’s a phenomenal dog that we have never had issues with.” He’s crated trained, potty trained, medically healthy and neutered. Good with other dogs, people, and kids! Please call Sarah if you can offer temporary or permanent help!! 410-310-9397May 12, 2024, 7:27 am

Additional adoption info

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. We suggest a $200 donation that helps offset some of our expenses such as feeding, boarding, training, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and miscellaneous veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
