Lois arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in September 2023 after being found as a stray in Laval with her two sisters. It took her a while to get used to the human presence, but playtime was the trigger that brought her out of her shell. Lois is extremely motivated by play, much more so than by food. She loves to be stroked, especially at the base of her tail and scratched on the cheeks. Very observant, she likes to be close to humans to watch what they're doing. When she feels confident, she doesn't hesitate to come and ask to be petted. She's nervous around strangers, but appreciates her trusted foster humans. Despite the progress she's made, she's still a little nervous, which we need to respect. She dislikes loud noises and likes to be treated gently. She's becoming more and more communicative, and comes in for petting several times a day. She loves to be brushed, and with a bit of luck, it's possible to trim a claw or two. However, she doesn't like to be handled. Lois would not be a good match for an environment with young children. She does, however, enjoy the company of other cats. Lois is an adult cat so the adoption fees for her are $290. She is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. She is not tested for the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) or for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) but her sister Lana is negative for both viruses. Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the help of the adoption team as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within the first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).
