This handsome guy is Mr. Bean, and he is patiently waiting for his turn at finding a home. He recently took a break from the shelter in a foster home, and this is what they shared about him:
"Mr.Bean has been a certified good boy since picking him up! He is nervous getting in/out of cars but does not snap or growl when handled. He has little reaction to loud sounds (cars revving/things falling/dogs barking from balcony), and when he does he swiftly recovers from it.
He did great in the shower, despite being nervous. He is very food motivated and willing to work for food, so I think a lick mat would be very great enrichment for him. He got treats throughout his shower for good behavior/reassurance!
He's a very fast eater, so I feel a slow feeder or semi solid food (frozen together with yogurt then defrosted) is ideal. Mr.Bean also entertains himself when he settles down, as he collects all his toys into bed one by one every few minutes.
Mr.Bean met several kids whilst we were out (petsmart/walking) and did not jump/lunge at them, and was very polite to any that interacted with me. He generally ignores people unless I am interacting with them! He has met several dogs from a distance today, and was mostly playful except for a few cases of dogs with aggressive body language, to which he did bark. However I noticed this coincided with him being protective of me, he would first observe them and take up position in front of me, whether this was at my leg, in between my legs, or behind me. I assume he is the kind of dog to protect you if something happened to you.
He did meet a cat at Petsmart as well, and seemed excited/playful. We were several feet away, and I think he did not have aggressive body language. He has only whined faintly twice today, and barked three times at dogs that did hard stares/barked aggressively. Otherwise as mentioned, he was very friendly towards other dogs and people. No dogs were physically near us except twice when walking the streets (5 feet) all others were 10 feet or further from us. I think he may just be dog selective.
He's very attached to me so far, he doesn't leave me out of sight/waits if I am, and will watch me/stand behind me if his bed isn't nearby, and he goes to check in on my dad every now and then. He shows high promise in training, he's already learning 'watch' quickly but becomes a bit indecisive since again, he's very motivated by food. He does tug on the leash, but I can't blame him and that's something that can be worked on. He does seem to understand 'sit' and 'lets go' so far!
All in all, Mr.Bean is a very loving dog who more than likely would go to the ends of the earth for his people. He's very puppy-like still and just needs guidance and training, but he certainly would make for a lovely companion!"
