My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Xeno is just the happiest dog.  Romping with his canine pals is one of his favorite pastimes, second only to snuggling with humans. :-) It is always so hard to understand how such a sweet dog could not have a person come looking for him when he ended up as a stray at a shelter .....but we knew we had to help him when we found out he only had hours till he would be euthanized for space.

Although Xeno originally tested negative for heartworms at the shelter, during routine vetting done when he arrived, he tested positive for Heartworms . We have started him on the initial meds but will need to start the actual treatment soon.

ASR follows the guideline of the American Heartworm Society with 3 injections, Day 1 initial injection, 30 days of restricted activity , Day 31 Injection #2, Day 32 Injection #3 and an additional 30 days of restricted activity ( leash walks, crate rest, no ball playing or running ).

Treating heartworm is not inexpensive but we are committed to helping this sweet boy conquer this disease and have a happy and long life with some lucky family !

ASR will pay for all  Heartworm treatments with an adopter's vet and provide a Volunteer experienced in Heartworm Treatment to answer questions etc.

If you are interested in learning more about Xeno and/or his heartworm treatment, please email Adoptions@allshepherdrescue.com

IF you are not yet approved to adopt from All Shepherd Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.allshepherdrescue.com. Our adoption fee is $350.00

More about this rescue

We are a group of German Shepherd lovers who help homeless German Shepherds that are in dire straits and need rescue.

We rescue dogs from kill shelters or other situations where the dogs' life is in danger. We fully vet our dogs and our wonderful fosters care for our dogs until their "forever home" is found!

We are a dating service for dogs, helping potential adopters find the perfect match for their families. We will work with you tirelessly until we find the perfect fit for your family!

We make a lifetime commitment to every dog and every adopter and we are there to answer questions and help with the transition to your home.

Why do we do it? We LOVE dogs , especially German Shepherds, and it breaks our hearts that so many adoptable GSD's never make it out of shelters.

We are an all volunteer group and are always looking for new volunteers to help us in our mission to save dogs!

FOSTERS, we need YOU!!!!

We need fosters to provide a safe haven while a dog is waiting for his/her forever home! If you think you cannot foster because you couldn't let your foster dog leave, talk to us!! While many of us have adopted one or more of our fosters ( we call it Failing Fostering 101 !!!) we can tell you how wonderful it is to see your foster become a beloved addition to a new family.............and opens up a space to save another dog on death row!

If you have any questions at all about fostering please give us a shout and we are happy to answer all questions.

If you cannot foster, we always need volunteers to help host events, do fundraising and PR .

And , of course, we always need donations to pay the vets who keep our dogs healthy and the trainers who help us with doggie manners!

Donations are always welcome and very much appreciated!
