Meet Lyra! She is an intelligent lady who enjoys leisurely walks with a friend. As soon as her leash is on, Lyra is ready to get caught up on the latest pee-mail. She bounces from one smell spot to the other. Exploring is one of her favorite things. She is very smart and knows sit/down. She will do anything for a treat. I'm sure she would love to learn new tricks, and would do so very quickly.
We don't know what this girl has been through in her short life, but she seems to have had a rough go at it. Lyra doesn't care for strangers, but we've been able to win her over with treats...I'm sure you can too! Since being here, she has opened up to some of the staff and volunteers. After she's gone for a walk, she enjoys a snuggle with one of her friends.
Lyra would like a home without children due to her not wanting to share food or toys. She may not want to have frequent visitors over because it takes Lyra a minute to warm up to new people. She's sensitive, quirky, and cute and needs a special home that can respect her boundaries. This girl needs someone to advocate for her special behavioral needs. She values patience and positivity as people get to know her. She has so much love to give, she just needs someone trustworthy to give her a safe space to open up in. If you think Lyra is a good fit for you, ask about meeting her today!
Lyra loves to play with other dogs, so if you would like to schedule a meet & greet with your dog, please let us know! She is spayed and microchipped and since she has been with us over 6 months, her Lonely Hearts club membership means her adoption fee is only $20.
