Meet Wendall!
Hey guys, my name is Wendall. I've been at the Humane Society for quite a while, since the fall of 2022. I originally came in when I was just a few months old, with my eight brothers and sisters. We all looked totally different even though we were littermates, so they called us "31 flavors" mix, and we were born 03/31/2022. We were born to and raised by a stray momma, and we were all so scared of people. I know they told us they were helping us, and they did give us all lots of good treats and toys, but it was still a very scary time. One by one, I watched my brothers and sisters get adopted until it was just me and my brother Warren left. The two of us grew together, from little 15lb puppies, to full grown 70lbs adults. We have gotten to meet and socialize with lots and lots of people and animals in our time here. The both of us really do best when we have another dog with us, because people can still definitely make us a little nervous when we're on our own. I got the chance to go to this really nice foster home for a while, but my foster sister and I got into a little mischief and she got pretty sick after, so I came back to the shelter so they could spend more time nursing her back to health. A couple of things I really, really like are toys and treats. The easiest way to earn my trust is, hands down, giving me a tasty treat. And toys? Forget about it. I love toys so much, some people think it's crazy. Stuffed animals are the best, but only if you're okay with having the stuffing all over your living room. Just so you know, I do like to act pretty scared of people I don't know. My friends at the shelter like to call me a big chicken, but strangers can be really scary okay! Even though I act scared, I do bond with people pretty well once you've given me a little bit of time. I put a lot of trust into my human friends, and I'd really like a human family who can love me even with my quirks.
Wendall is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is sponsored! Due to his skittishness, Wendall is considered a high flight risk. His adopters are required to have a fully fenced in yard, and may be subjected to a home visit. If you already have any other dogs, a meet and greet is required.
