My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A Good Samaritan turned Livvie in to Chance at Life after she found her in the middle of the road in Tenafly, NJ in July of 2016. She was lethargic, dehydrated, emaciated and very sick. Her eyes were glued shut from eye infections and she was struggling to breath from an upper respiratory infection.

Livvie was treated for many weeks, had pressure tests and tear stain tests to make sure she could keep her eyes if not her sight. Livvie would never have complete vision but was producing her own tears and was doing just fine with the vision she had so she was put up for adoption. She was quickly adopted in October of 2016.

Fast forward to November of 2023, we were contacted by a family member of the adopter that the adopter had suddenly and unexpectedly passed and there was no one take in Livvie or the other cat (Adalind) who was adopted from us after Livvie. Of course, we said we would take them back but needed time to find space and we had to figure out logistics as the cats were now out of state.

Livvie and Adalind rejoined our family on December 19, 2023. We were mortified, saddened, and angered at the condition the girls were in. Clearly, they had been neglected for quite some time and the family of the deceased claimed no knowledge. Livvie had fared better than Adalind who is still undergoing treatment for skin wounds, matting and allergies.

Livvie has come through her trauma with flying colors. Her matts are gone, and she is in great spirits. She has the most amazingly long whiskers and eyebrows! She enjoys treats, jumping in your lap, sitting in hidey holes, catnip, being brushed and being the center of attention. She is not a fan of having her eyes cleaned.

While we usually do not separate cats that have been together for so long, we have found that Livvie and Adalind are not bonded and don’t even interact with each other. Livvie should be fine though in a home with other cats with proper introductions.

Approximate DOB 05/13/16.

Up to date on vaccinations, spayed and FIV/FeLV negative.

You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt. If you live in a parent or guardian's home, they must complete the application. An application does not guarantee an adoption. Our cats and kittens are not adopted on a first come, first served basis, but whom we feel would be the best fit for our cats and kittens.
