My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***AT SHELTER***

You won't be spooked by Spooky!

The illness of her loving family member has made it necessary for Spooky to seek a new living arrangement. She is presently calling EHS home while waiting to meet the people with whom she can spend the rest of her life.

Spooky is understandably frazzled given the sudden turn of events, and is taking time to decompress in her new surroundings. As the saying goes, her "bark" is worse than her bite. When approached slowly and comfortable in your presence, Spooky will sometimes accept pets, preferring a gentle touch with the wand. One step at a time, Spooky. Things will get better! Tube treats might well be one way to her heart as not only did she enjoy the treat directly from the tube, but she also chose to make sure our dedicated volunteer's hand was clean by licking off all residue of this delicacy.

Spooky will likely do best in a calm setting where she can, once again, be a cherished family member. It is best that dogs not be in her future, but she does seem to enjoy the company of other feline-friendly cats!

Spooky is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. She is currently enrolled in EHS's socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people. There have been many successful graduates from this program, but potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Spooky along this journey. It should be noted that while some skittish cats might remain reserved, others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways. A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Spooky with a successful transition to her forever home.

Will you be the one to help Spooky find love once again? Why not come out to meet her? You both might hit the jackpot!
--------------------
The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...or, double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.
