My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sagebrush was part of a large group of accidental babies surrendered in July 2023. He is a black and white coloration. Like most of his brothers, Sagebrush is a little skittish to be held but not bitey. The mice are all getting calmer and more social as they move past the juvenile phase.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application

We are currently open by appointment only to see all the pets, but we frequently appear at farmer's markets and other local events with adoptable animals.

More about this shelter

We are a specialty rescue for small exotic pets, such as reptiles and small mammals. We were formed by two women who met working at a nature center. In their interactions with the public they noticed a need in the area for a rescue that specialized in exotic pets, as well as a value in public education. Lost Woods Animal Sanctuary was formed with the mission to reduce mistreatment and abandonment of animals through rescue and rehoming, as well as educational outreach.
