My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thelma is a young, active dog with a lot of personality. She is very smart and would likely do well at agility or other activities where she can use her brain and be active. Overall, she is a fun dog to have around. She loves people and dogs. Thelma jumps up on people when excited (were working on that). She would do best in a home with older kids because she might knock younger kids down since she weighs about 40 lbs. Thelma is medium energy, but she is still a big puppy. She likes to chew and has destroyed multiple dog toys at her foster home. Daily mental stimulation and exercise are needed such as 2 to 3 walks per day where she can sniff and explore. Thelma would prefer to be the only pet in the home. She loves dogs and loves to play, but she needs to work on her dog manners. She approaches dogs head-on rather than from the side like a well-mannered dog. Some dogs find this pushy. Thelma likely wouldnt do well in a dog park. Both Thelma and her sister were just days old when they were found abandoned in Mexico. She didnt have her mom to teach her some dog manners. She has been left alone at her foster home on multiple occasions without any issues. At night, Thelma sleeps well once she settles down. She doesnt use a crate currently but did have one as a small puppy and adapted to it well. Thelma has not been cat-tested but appears to have a strong prey drive, so likely she is not good around cats and other small animals. Thelma is being fostered in Hamilton.
