Meet CELIE. In December, we pulled this stunning calico off the SEAACA kill list, where she had landed after surviving being hit - and dragged - by a car. The incident left her with a crushed pelvis, road rash, and extensive degloving injuries (areas of missing skin) throughout her hind quarters and tail. To say that this young lady was in a world of hurt would be an understatement.
After 21 days in the hospital, we finally got to meet Celie face-to-face yesterday, and believe us when we tell you that THIS CAT IS AN ABSOLUTE LOVE. Despite all the trauma she has endured, she wants nothing more than to lie on her back and soak up all the belly rubs and chin scratches her foster can deliver - so much so that it was a challenge to get any photos of her upright.
It is going to be a little while before Celie is available for adoption - her pelvic fractures and superficial wounds are still healing and she is on strict crate rest for the foreseeable future - but when she is ready, you are definitely going to want this cat. Like her namesake from The Color Purple, she is tough as nails and resilient as hell but has a heart of gold that only wants to love. Born 12/13/21.

Additional adoption info
We do have an application form on our website. A home check is also done. We know our animals well and work hard to make sure the adoption will be a purr-fect match! We will be happy to answer your questions. We want an adoption to be the right fit for both the humans and the animal.
When you adopt a pet from us, you can rest assured that you are getting a pet who is much loved, well-cared for, and whom we know well. In turn, we know that an adopter will provide a loving, caring, home.
Cat adoptions are usually $125 each. Dog fees are based on breed. All are current on vaccinations and neutering. Some are microchipped. They are vetted again before delivery.
All of our adoptable cats and dogs are pictured on our website, with their videos, at www.lifelineforpets.org.
