My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NAME:
Tommen Baratheon aka Lio

STATS:
Male, Spaniel/Dachshund mix, baby, 5 years, 22 lbs. Special Needs

TEMPERAMENT:
Friendly.
Shy.
Needs seasoned owner to work with issues (see below).
Needs to be WITH ANOTHER dog

SKILLS:
Potty trained.
Crate trained.
Good with children.
Good with dogs.
Good with cats.

MORE ABOUT ME:
Likes belly rubs.
Submissive.
Needs patient owner willing to work on behavior (see details below).

ONE LAST THING:
Lio is a very sweet dog. He is great if you are mostly home, but he does not like to be left alone. He is really smart and can figure out treat puzzles quickly. He is a great size to take places.
Lio has a lot of anxiety. He will pee when anxious and is currently on some anti anxiety medications. His anxiety mostly comes from separation - whether we are out of the house completely or just have a door shut and he can't get to us. He is afraid of most new people, but won't bite. He may growl a little, but has never even come close to biting. He could use more separation training than we've been able to do so far. When one of us is working from home he is mostly fine, but if we are out of the house all day, that's when he has the most issues (peeing).April 24, 2024, 2:04 pm

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, abused, stray and neglected animals, primarily from high-kill shelters. We collaborate with other rescue groups and animal shelters to improve the lives of animals at risk for euthanisia. We work to provide solutions which seek to end the animal over-population and educate people to be responsible pet owners and "fur-ever guardians."
