My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there! I'm Chevy and I am one of the best pups in town. I would love to be on your team and help guide you to victory...or at least the snack bowl. At half-time can we head outside for some fetch or tug-o-war? I want to show off my mad skills.

Meet the cool and charming Chevy! This well-rounded boy is a social butterfly, having effortlessly embraced the company of both dogs and children, considering them his instant play buddies. Chevy envisions a life filled with joyous moments - from lazy naps in the sun to being your loyal sidekick through thick and thin.

Chevy's dreams include basking in the yard, playing with an array of toys (balls, frisbees, ropes, plush toys, you name it!), and embarking on exciting car rides. He's a pro at making every moment count, whether it's a swim in the pool or a lively visit to the dog park. With Chevy, you'll find a loving, affectionate companion who's equally content being a playful adventurer or a snug lap dog. Are you ready to make Chevy's dream of a carefree, family-loving life a reality? Adopt him, and let the good times roll!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Each adoption consists of an interview, application, counseling session, and adoption contract. All adoptions are handled on a case-by-case basis, but most adoptions are first-come, first-served, and holds cannot be placed in advance for someone to meet with an animal. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Please see http://www.nevadahumanesociety.org/ for more information including all currently available animals, adoption prices, resources, and events.

More about this shelter

Nevada Humane Society is a non-profit organization whose lifesaving work is made possible through donations. In 2007, NHS became a no-kill shelter and launched a bold effort to help Washoe County become a no-kill community. In 2014, NHS expanded lifesaving efforts to include Carson City. Today, more than 100,000 animals have been placed into loving homes since 2007 and NHS continues to grow, maintaining its status as one of the top communities in the country for saving homeless pets.
