My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I LOVE TO DO THE FOLLOWING THINGS:
- Run and roam on property
- Play with my BFF dog friend (I lived with one)
- Be inside with my people as much as possible
- Show off the commands I know

MORE ABOUT ME:
- I get anxious about being in car and often get carsick! I know there is medication for this!
- I lived in a home with another dog and several children - we were all best friends
- Would love to learn to socialize outside of my own pack which consisted of a dog, kids, and parents
- Would love to learn to walk on a leash and become a stellar walker. I don't have experience with this but am eager to learn.

A PERFECT DAY FOR ME:
Any time we are together will be a best day for me. I want to know you are there for me and will work with me to train me up into being best version of myself. I really do believe that the best Rocky is yet to come. I would love to spend a day taking long walks and then cuddling up on the couch after and watch some tv. When we are done I would be so tired I would drift off to sleep dreaming of all the fun we had together.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Each adoption consists of an interview, application, counseling session, and adoption contract. All adoptions are handled on a case-by-case basis, but most adoptions are first-come, first-served, and holds cannot be placed in advance for someone to meet with an animal. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Please see http://www.nevadahumanesociety.org/ for more information including all currently available animals, adoption prices, resources, and events.

More about this shelter

Nevada Humane Society is a non-profit organization whose lifesaving work is made possible through donations. In 2007, NHS became a no-kill shelter and launched a bold effort to help Washoe County become a no-kill community. In 2014, NHS expanded lifesaving efforts to include Carson City. Today, more than 100,000 animals have been placed into loving homes since 2007 and NHS continues to grow, maintaining its status as one of the top communities in the country for saving homeless pets.
