I'm not just any 'ole cat, I also play pool. Hi there, my name is Hatfield. Some of the humans call me, Handsome Hatfield. I am a chunk of fun and affection, so prepare to fall in love! I am a very sweet, calm, friendly boy. I am 2 years old and I'm well passed that crazy kitten stage, but I do still like to play, as you can see. Toys are awesome. I sometimes crawl on my foster mom's lap for cuddles and pets. I have amazing soft black fur and sparkling eyes, which add to my endless charm. I think people are great and all I need now if some of my own to love for life. I am fully litterbox trained and ready to find my forever family. Could it be you? Please apply today! NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please complete the online application, so that an adoption counselor may call you to answer questions and discuss next steps.

2.
Meet the Pet

During the phone conversation, the adoption counselor will work with you to schedule a meet-n-greet.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If all goes well during the meet-n-greet, the pet may start the two-week minimum, mandatory adjustment period. Adopter signs the contract.

4.
Pay Fee

At the time the pet stays to start the adjustment period, the Rescue will collect the adoption fee.

Adoption fee for kittens: (6 months and younger): $125 (includes testing, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, spay/neuter and 60 days of free pet insurance)

Adoption fee for dogs: $80 (includes testing, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, spay/neuter and 60 days of free pet insurance)

Adoption fee for puppies: (6 months and younger): $125 (includes testing, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, spay/neuter and 60 days of free pet insurance)

Second Saturday of Every Month: noon to 3 p.m. at Petco, 2675 S Rochester Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48307.

Fourth Saturday of Every Month: noon to 3 p.m. at PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd., Bloomfield Hills. (no event in December).

A selection of adoptable cats and kittens live at the Petco - Rochester Hills store. Applicants can visit them any time the store is open.

Dogs and puppies are available by appointment.

Paws for Life Rescue and Adoption is a 501c3 non-profit animal welfare organization, run by hard-working dedicated volunteers who rescue homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. We use a network of loving foster care homes where animals stay until their forever homes find them.

Our mission is to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. We believe in matching animals and families to find the right fit for everyone.
