Joel and his pal Ellie were on an epic adventure in Tucson when they were brought to the shelter. Luckily for them, their journey was a lot less post- apocalyptic than the expedition that the “The Last of Us” characters that they’re named after were on! No mushroom monsters here! Regardless, the shelter is a safer place than the streets. But, the shelter is also just a temporary stop on the way to better things- a home! Joel is a friendly boy who would love to find a family to dote on him and teach him all about life as a cherished companion. Here’s what one volunteer said about him:
“Joel is super cute and nice! Easy to leash up and easy to handle on walks. He had a good time running around in the yard with his kennelmate.”
Joel recently went on a field trip away from the shelter and got an A+ for his good behavior. He went on a long walk, played fetch, and played in the hose:
“Our 12 year old son had a blast playing with and walking Joel today. He loved to run in our backyard and got good at dropping the ball while playing catch. For his first ride in the car he did fantastic. He didn`t chew on anything he shouldn`t and we never heard him bark.”
Joel did great with older kids and was described as energetic, curious, easygoing, and very happy.
Joel shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Joel today!!
