My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Garfield is a sweet 4-year-old kitty who, sadly, was abandoned at a pet-food store a couple of nights before Christmas.  While he is feeling somewhat bewildered and doesn’t understand what has happened to him, he is adjusting quickly.  Garfield is starting to trust people again, enjoys petting and cuddling, and is a "purr machine!"

Garfield is obese but has lost some weight on his controlled diet of quality weight-reduction food.  Ideally, Angus & Friends would like Garfield to be fostered or adopted by someone who has prior experience helping overweight kitties.  He needs someone willing and able to watch that he eats only what will allow him to slowly and gradually lose the excess weight.  Training may be provided to a foster/adopter who has little or no experience with obese cats.

Garfield was born on approximately December 8, 2019.  He has been neutered, and will be microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations prior to being adopted.  He would do best in a quiet home with 1-2 adults and no children.

More about this rescue

Angus & Friends is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit in California. Angus was an approximately 15 y.o. orange tabby found on death's door by people who lived in his neighborhood who assumed he had a home. He didn't, but probably did at one time, because he turned out to be friendly, though very sick. We tried to save him, but he ultimately had to be put down because he was not recovering after a blood transfusion due to flea anemia. Our goal is to help as many homeless cats and kittens as possible to get off the mean streets and find a furrever home.
