NEW INTAKE 1/10/2024: Essie - female - 14 years old - 6.4 pounds - Chihuahua
Reason for intake: Ninna was at Bossier City Animal Control taking her weekly pictures for the Buddies of Bossier City Animal Control Facebook page when we she was called to the front. A lady was there surrendering this little girl to be euthanized. We were able to convince her to all her to go to rescue. This little girl was not ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge! Unfortunately, she wasn't spayed and as a result she has huge ruptured mammary tumors... one huge that is visible and several smaller ones under her right front leg. This poor girl has been dealing with this for a while. Had she been spayed a long time ago, she likely would not have developed the mammary tumors. She's already at our vet and we hope we can give her some semblance of a quality life for however long she has left. Stay tuned...
NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.
