My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sweet young boy Kenai came to us from a rescue volunteer, h e was on a Reservation and killed someone's chickens and was at risk of being shot.  A lovely elderly woman adopted him who had a history of having large dogs as service dogs for her husband.  Her husband had died before she adopted Kenai and it turned out that she is not capable of caring for him on her own. She has physical limitations and can only walk very short distances inside her apartment and this poor dog wasn't getting any exercise.

Kenai is a great dog, who just shouldn't be around chickens.  He's great with my 3 dogs, one of which is a 25 lb Cocker. He has lived with cats in the past and did not harm them. He is very friendly and just wants to find the perfect home which will need a 6ft fence.

He is at the Old Farm Kennel in Florence and available for adoption with a $275 adoption fee.   Feel free to give the Kennel a call at 406 273-6837 if you would like to stop in and meet Kenai.

Additional adoption info

Great Pyrenees Rescue, Montana's mission is to help rehabilitate abused and displaced Great Pyrenees dogs, and find them the best forever home.

Adopting a friend
We work hard to find the best home for our dogs. We want this home to be their forever home. An adoption application is required with a vet reference. A home visit is also done. PERMANENT, SECURE FENCING IS REQUIRED Our adoption donation for most dogs is $275.00 for our dogs and this money is used to cover vet expense, spay/neuter charges, transport expense and caring for our dogs until they are adopted. A senior dog age 8 or older and our special needs dogs, we ask for $175.00 donation. This adoption donation is lower because you may need more health care for the seniors or special needs. We want them all to find a happy home and to be loved forever. FENCING FOR THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 5 FOOT HIGH.
NOTE: The electric underground fencing is unacceptable for this breed.

More about this rescue

Please note: We are not a shelter. We are a group of volunteers. All of our dogs are fostered at someone's home OR at Old Farm Kennels. They are loved by their foster parents, some of them are socialized and their personalities and traits are well known by the foster family.
