My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

See the hoarding case Slim Pickins came from here:

Do you need any blanket tunnels dug? Well, then Slim Pickins is your guy!! He loves to tunnel under blankets on the couch! This super sweet guy would love a permanent home and he is an easy fit into most any household. He likes other dogs and cats. Slim Pickins typically goes potty on a puppy pad. He is a small guy so 10 years old is really middle age for him - he still has a lot of years and love to give! Slim Pickins is actually not very picky when it comes to food (haha) - he has a great appetite and is food motivated so if you are wanting to teach some tricks or manners, make sure you have some treats ready! To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
