Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Duke came to us from a facility in the panhandle of FL that allowed us to take him home without any medical records or history beyond being verbally told he ended up at the shelter along with his brother after losing his former owner due to old age.
His brother was adopted separately and he has lived with us since March 2020. We noticed that after we moved for the first time, he stopped using the litter box, and seems to have anxiety related to moving & too much “chaos” in a home. We have another cat and two dogs and it appears that Duke has underlying stress related to living with other animals.
Based on his history we feel we simply aren’t the best fit for him, and that he would thrive in a quiet, adult only, single animal home. He’s an incredibly sweet, quiet cat who is content to just sleep and snuggle! The hope is his aversion to a litter box will disappear in the right home, which is why we’ve made the difficult decision to look for a better placement for him.
