This brave boy came to us after facing some challenges in his previous household, but his story begins much earlier with a rescue that saved his life.
Originally rescued from Lebanon where he endured harsh conditions as a puppy, Simon experienced early trauma that has shaped who he is today. Found tied up with a broken leg and severely underweight, he learned early that the world could be an uncertain place.
While Simon's past has made him cautious around new people, sometimes to the point of defensive behavior including biting, those who take the time to earn his trust discover an incredibly loyal and loving companion. His wariness is his way of protecting himself, born from experiences that taught him to be careful about who he lets into his world.
Once Simon feels safe with you, his true personality shines through. He's a dog who finds joy in life's simple pleasures like chasing a ball across the yard, embarking on long walks where he can explore new scents, cooling his paws in the pond on warm days, and most treasured of all, sitting quietly beside his favorite person watching the world go by together. Simon is the definition of a loyal companion, and when he bonds with someone, that connection runs deep. He's not just a pet but becomes a devoted friend who will stand by your side through anything.
Simon requires a special kind of home that understands his needs and respects his boundaries. He's looking for an experienced dog owner who can continue his training and help him navigate his reactivity toward new people and dogs. His ideal home would be an adult-only household with no other dogs, providing a quiet environment with minimal chaos and a safe space where he can retreat when visitors come over. He needs a patient, experienced owner who is committed to ongoing training and relationship-building.
Simon isn't looking for just any home but is searching for his person, someone who understands that trust is earned rather than given and who has the patience to let him set the pace. In return, Simon offers a loyalty and companionship that runs deeper than most. If you're an experienced dog owner seeking a devoted companion and can provide Simon with the structured, calm environment he needs to thrive, he might just be the perfect match for you. Behind his cautious exterior is a heart full of love, just waiting for the right person to share it with.
