My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sirius, a dog who truly embodies majesty and charm in every step he takes. His journey to finding his forever home has had its challenges, but we know there's a loving and experienced family out there who can appreciate his regal qualities and understand his unique needs. With his striking appearance, Sirius is sure to turn heads wherever he goes, but beneath that magnificent exterior lies a heart full of love and a deep desire for comfort and security.

Sirius is wonderfully laid-back with a profound appreciation for life's finer comforts. He has a deep love for lounging on a soft couch, and endless belly rubs paired with tasty treats represent his idea of absolute heaven. In return for this pampering, Sirius offers something precious and unwavering loyalty and genuine affection that runs deep.

We want to be completely transparent about Sirius's specific needs because finding him the right match is essential for his success. He requires a home without other dogs, cats, or children, as he does best when he can be the sole focus of his family's attention. Sirius has been adopted and returned in the past due to biting incidents, which is why he needs an experienced family who understands and is comfortable working with a naturally protective dog.

Once Sirius settles into his new environment, he will naturally assume the role of guardian for his family and space, particularly when new people enter his territory. This protective instinct is part of who he is, and his future family needs to be prepared for this behavior and equipped to manage it appropriately. Sirius thrives with constant, consistent leadership and clear boundaries, especially when guests visit the home.

A fully fenced backyard would be ideal for Sirius, providing him with a safe and secure area where he can roam freely, patrol his domain, and soak up the sunshine. He would make excellent use of this space, enjoying both the freedom and the ability to keep watch over his territory.

If you're an experienced dog owner seeking a loyal and protective companion, Sirius might be exactly what you've been looking for. With the right leadership, guidance, and understanding of his needs, he has the potential to thrive and become the devoted guardian you've been searching for. He's ready to find his forever home where he can relax in comfort and style, protect the people he loves, and share the endless loyalty and affection that make him so special.

Additional adoption info

Due to the high volume of applicants, we are only able to move forward with families that are ready to adopt now. If you aren’t ready to adopt now, please apply when you are ready to welcome a dog into your home. After your initial appointment, once the adoption has been approved, we will require the dog to be picked up within one week unless we determine otherwise.

Our hope is that all homes are a forever home, however we understand that circumstances can change, and that sometimes it just isn't the right fit. Whether you discover this three days after the adoption, or three years after the adoption, we will always welcome our dogs back with open arms. Their well-being is our top concern.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, examined by a vet, dewormed, given flea and tick prevention, groomed

Our adoption fees:

Under 1 year old (11 months or less) - $950
1-7 years old - $800
8+ years old - $500
Sanctuary - $50
Palliative* - $50
Special Needs* - $50
Bonded pairs - 30% off the total price

*For Palliative and Special Needs dogs we will discuss on a case by case basis what Dog Tales will cover financially, if applicable
