Evie is approximately 2 yrs old, she weighs 9 lbs, and she is a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix with a lovely short haired white with spots of tan coat which will require minimal grooming.
This is Evie’s story: An urgent plea arrived in our inbox from a local shelter desperately seeking a rescue for a pregnant 2-year-old Chihuahua, and our hearts were torn. After recently experiencing the heartbreak of losing all four puppies of another pregnant mama, we hesitated for a minute but then we asked ourselves if not us, then who, so we welcomed this sweet mama, whom we named Evie, into our Pawsitive Tails to Remember family.
Evie's journey has been far from easy. Arriving at the shelter as a stray, she bore the physical and emotional scars of life on the streets. Emaciated, anemic, and covered in ticks, she had endured more than her fair share of hardship. Tragically, the shelter's well-intentioned vaccination had posed a threat to her unborn puppies, as seen in the tragic case of our other mama. Our hopes and prayers were firmly fixed on avoiding the same fate for Evie's precious babies.
We were committed to providing Evie with the care and support she deserved. Through a regimen of B-12 shots, vitalizing vitamins, immune boosters, and nourishing meals, we restored her strength and vitality. It worked and Evie gave birth to 7 healthy puppies! 5 of her puppies have already been adopted and it’s Evie’s turn to find her forever home.
If you want a friendly, sweet lap dog, look no further! We feel that Evie will do well in any home dynamic but we would love a home with at least one other small dog for companionship or an owner who is retired or works from home. Evie is microchipped, current on vaccines and is spayed!
Like most dogs, Evie would love nothing more than a forever home and a family to call her own.
Please fill out an application to start the process to meet EVIE. Meet and greets will be held in Riverside, CA
