My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER NEEDED ALERT: Our sweet Mike is truly magic. He started his young life on the streets of Los Angeles with an unhoused individual who couldn’t care for him or his canine brother. They were both turned into the local shelter and split up. Poor Mike has been through a lot over the last few months, but he’s now focused on his future and has so much love to give. We think he’s about three years young. He’s fun, curious, and very energetic. He is smart and eager to please and will benefit from some good old fashioned basic training skills (no more jumping up to say hello or pulling on the leash, kind of training). His horrible diet from living on the streets did a number on his sensitive Boxer tummy, so he’s currently undergoing tests to help get his digestive system back on track. He’s great with people and kids. He was in a foster home with another Boxer and they got along great, but sadly, the family didn’t have the time to focus on his temporary medical needs. He’s fully house trained and loves being a part of a family. We are looking for an immediate foster for Mike and if you welcome him into your home, we promise we won’t blame you if you can’t let him go – he’s that fantastic in every way! And just look at those eyes. SWOON! Please contact tmhrescue@gmail.com for more information on sweet Mike the Boxer.

More about this rescue

Take Me Home (TMH) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that has been saving the lives of homeless animals for more than twelve years. We work in conjunction with shelters and rescues throughout California and beyond to help save dogs on death row, on the streets or in unsafe living conditions. Our team is driven by love, compassion and doing right by innocent animals who have no voice.

We are very skilled in running mobile dog adoptions and working with families in all aspects of finding their new family member. We also have an on-site trainer at most of our adoption events and available as a resource after our dogs are placed in loving homes.

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, brought up-to-date on all shots and are micro-chipped. If we pull a dog from a shelter, we will quarantine him/her to ensure they are healthy before they go home. We also have an amazing foster program available for our special needs and older dogs.

As with any non-profit organization, we rely solely on funds from generous and cherished supporters to keep our doors open to save more lives. If you're not ready to adopt, please still consider donating to Take Me Home (www.takemehome.tv) today. Every little bit helps!
