Looking for a dog who’s equal parts goofy best friend, outdoor adventurer, and loyal companion? Meet Damon, a stunning brindle Mountain Cur & Plott Hound mix who's been patiently waiting for his forever home… and he hopes it’s yours.
Damon is a true guy’s guy — though he’s sweet with women, he really connects best with men and would love nothing more than to be your ride-or-die, whether it's in the front seat of your truck or beside you on a lakeside trail. 🚙🐾 He LOVES car rides and his tail doesn't stop wagging when the door opens.
He’s a water lover through and through — the hose, a pool, a lake—if it splashes, Damon’s in. He’s also a champion ball player and will happily play tug with you until it's time to chill on the couch (which he’s also a big fan of). He’s got the energy to hike a mountain but also the heart to curl up with you after a long day. 🐶❤️
Damon is treat motivated, smart, curious, and would do awesome with continued training. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for this athletic boy to run, play, and explore. We have cat tested Damon and he doesn't react unless they run. Then it's game on. Please keep that in mind.
Despite his long stay at the shelter, Damon hasn’t let it dull his light. He’s brave, funny, affectionate, and so ready to give all of his love to someone who’ll finally give him the home he deserves. His eyes will melt you, and his goofy grin will keep you smiling.

Visit us (by appointment only) at our physical location in Blairsville, GA 30512. Please e-mail us your contact info. and which pet you are interested in. We will happily arrange a meeting with that pet.
We also hold adoptions most Saturdays from 10-4 at the Alpharetta Petsmart. It is located across from the North Point Mall. Also Petco in Milton/Alpharetta. Please e-mail us for specific dates and locations. Not all pets at our shelter are at the adoption event. If you would like to see a certain pet at an event, e-mail us and let us know which one you are interested in.

We believe that the same kindness, compassion, and generosity we extend to our two-legged neighbors should be given to our four-legged friends because they are not able to speak for themselves.
