Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Jaya is currently in a foster home! She is available for adoption. Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **
Gorgeous Jaya would love to be your new friend!
She is a sweet and loving girl who can be a little timid at first. Historically, it takes her a bit longer to warm up to male presenting people. That said, Jaya shines when we take things slowly and offer time and space! In the home, she is curious and playful. They take walks nearby the lakefront often and she loves sniffing around. She also does well when left alone. She seriously just naps and patiently waits her human's arrival! Check out the video included in her profile for proof of snoozing!
Jaya is a sweet and shy 4 year old retriever/cattle dog mix who came to CCR back in 2020. Her known story starts with her arrival as a stray back at a shelter in Southern Illinois. She was transported to Chicago and quickly adopted from CCR back in 2020 when she was just a puppy! At no fault of her own, she had to be returned due to her past owners' unstable housing situation.
If you're patient and sweet, we bet you'll make an easy connection with Jaya! We'd love to introduce you!

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
