Scout is a super sweet and super active young pup. He has yet to meet a stranger, both canine and human. That makes him a great fit for an active family because he’s not a one-person dog. Whoever is around is the person of his choice to play and snuggle with. In the house, he needs to have lots of toys, the kind he cannot pull the stuffing out, chew bones, and antlers, and he should be watched to make sure he is chewing on the right thing. He is primarily housebroken but should go out every few hours to remind him what to do. We have worked on leash training, and he has quickly caught on to the concept, so he now does excellent on long walks. He would be a great walking and hiking companion. I’m discovering that a long walk in the morning is a great thing for Scout. We live in a neighborhood with lots of kids and dogs, and he is a fan favorite. He loves doing doggie play dates, where he runs, chases, wrestles, and plays with the other dogs. The neighborhood children throw lacrosse balls for him, which he seems to like to chase better than tennis balls because they are bouncier. When he settles at the end of a busy and active day, he snuggles with his humans on the sofa. Since he is still a puppy, he sleeps in a crate at night, but I know his goal would be to rest in the bed or room with his human. Scout is a fabulous dog, but since he is an active puppy, he needs an active family with time to exercise and train him so that he will continue to evolve into a fabulous companion. With his sweet temperament, he is a spectacular pup! If you want to adopt or foster to adopt Scout, please click the “Adopt” button and submit an Adoption application.
