My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepper is a 4 year old, 15 lb. neutered Min-Pin mix who arrived in Harrisburg, PA on New Year's Day with his foster family. Pepper is a happy little guy that loves cats, dogs, and people! He absolutely loves to follow everyone and is a big-time snuggler. He loves a warm lap and a pile of blankies. Pepper loves playing with his toys and is also crate-trained. If the other dogs are playing fetch, he wants to play, too. Fetch and tug are two of his favorite games to play.

Pepper was surrendered near the end of 2023 when he displayed symptoms of IVDD, and his elderly mama could no longer care for his special needs. He does not currently show any signs of pain, and he is doing everything in his power to keep up with the rest of the pack. In his mind, he's totally fine and he doesnt care if he slips or trips when walking or running.
He gets back up and tries again.

He is potty trained, but due to the IVDD, he sometimes dribbles, so we keep a belly band on him to catch the drips between potty breaks outside. He is able to potty independently without intervention from the humans. Pepper traveled north with a wheelchair but remains mobile without it.

Pepper is heartworm negative, current on vaccines, and is ready to keep living his best life this year while he awaits a furever family. If you have room in your heart and home for a special guy like Pepper, apply to meet him:  www.pack9rescue.org/applications

PA Caring for K-9's PO Box 356 New Oxford PA 17350; LIC #9736

We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption. https://www.facebook.com/PaCaringForK9s/
