Rescue FAQs
We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter.

We serve Southern PA, MD and DC. We can adopt outside of these areas, but the entire household including dogs will need to attend meet and greet to adopt.
Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationPlease follow this link https://www.pack9rescue.org/applications/ and select "Adoption Application Form". Submit form.
- Approve ApplicationOur application team will process your application and inform you of your status by email. This process usually is completed in 7-10 days.
- Meet the PetIf approved, you will receive a welcome email. Reply to email with the dog you would like to meet. You will be put in contact with foster.
- Sign Adoption ContractIf meet and greet is successful, you will sign adoption contract, pay adoption fee and take dog home with you.
Additional adoption info
We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate.
