My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who doesn't love chocolate? Tony Tatum is a precious little nugget who comes to DREAM after living his entire life outside in a rural Georgia town.
Spring and summer, winter and fall, little baby boy was outside for them all.
He had a doghouse and a best friend (and sister) called Kate, who we also have with us in DREAM. Both are incredibly sweet despite limited interaction with their family and not really being a part of the day-to-day life going on in the house. Kinda sad.
Since they've never lived inside (UNTIL NOW!), they're learning the ropes. Playing with toys, sniffing around, sleeping in soft beds, and learning that doing the business outside is rewarding!
Since he came to us with heartworms, we are having him treated by our vet. Tony is a trooper though and is managing things just fine!
More to come as we get to know TT better.
If you are interested in adopting Tony Tatum, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Tony Tatum's adoption fee is $400.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Tony Tatum will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.

Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are not for profit.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.

Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.

DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
