My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the charming Azrael! This delightful feline is not only a master of play—particularly enjoying feather toys—but he’s also a social butterfly.

Azrael is a handsome boy who is initially a bit shy around new faces, but given some time to warm up, he becomes a purring machine and will shower you with affectionate licks. His love of playtime is definitely a great way to build a bond with him. He is always ready to bat around a crinkly ball or chase after laser dots! Azrael is also a pro at making friends with other cats, showcasing his friendly and easygoing nature.

Azrael loves the simple things in life. He kicks off the day with a good stretch and a yawn, then finds a sunny spot for a comfy nap. When it’s time to burn some energy, all you need to do is jingle one of his toys with bells, and he’ll come running! He really enjoys chasing after bell toys, and it’s a lot of fun to watch him jump around and bat at them. In the evenings, it's all about chilling on your lap for some cozy time together. These little routines make every day with Azrael warm and fuzzy!

In Azrael’s ideal home, he would have lots of space to explore and an adopter who is ready to provide him with endless play. He gets along quite well with other cats, but he has yet to meet any dogs or children, which would be new for him. As long as Azrael gets to spend quality time with his people, he’ll be a happy kitty in your home!

Adopters should know that Azrael was found to have crystals in his urine, so he was prescribed a urinary diet to improve those symptoms. We encourage discussing crystalluria and urinary diets with your veterinarian to determine if Azrael needs this diet in the long term. At the time of adoption, we will provide you with a supply of this food to allow time to establish care with your veterinarian.

Azrael has also had mild, chronic watery discharge from one of his eyes. This is likely a result of a minor viral infection, known as Feline Herpesvirus. This is a common virus for cats to have, and some experience minor eye-related symptoms as a result, especially following stressful events. Our Adoption Team would be happy to provide more information about Azrael’s medical history and expected future care.
