My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Layla is a gorgeous seal point ragdoll. She is a fairly large female with a nice long coat, a ruff around her neck, beautiful blue eyes and a big fluffy tail.

She was found wandering outside, as her owners had moved away and she was left behind. Who knows how it happened, but a kind person in the neighborhood saw her wandering outside and knowing she was an indoor only cat, she took her to a shelter where she would receive care and be rehomed. We were called to foster her, as she was very frightened in the noisy shelter environment. Coming into rescue, she was very dirty, so she was cleaned up with a lion cut and a bath.

Layla was shy and scared for several days in her foster home. She could be found huddled in a corner or hiding underneath the chair. In a week she realized she was safe and started to greet her foster mom at the door of her room. Soon she started to rub up against her for some love and pets. Now she comes running for attention as soon as she sees her! Obviously she had been loved very much in her past.

Layla needs a home where she will have a patient owner who will give her time to adjust to a new environment. She has regained confidence and now enjoys being combed and even jumps up to sit on her foster mom's lap!

Layla was taken in for a thorough check up as she was drinking quite a bit of water. Her test revealed she was in the early stages of kidney disease. She had an ultrasound which confirmed the blood and urine test results. No other problems were found. She is on a kidney diet prescription kibble and store bought low phosphorus wet food, both of which she enjoys. She will need to have this diet continued in the future to keep her healthy and hopefully keep the kidney disease to a very slow progression.

She is a happy girl and loves to chase the feather on a string. She really enjoys playing with her human family. She will be a wonderful addition in a home where she is a cherished family member.

Are you the lucky family to give this girl a loving forever home? She is quite a treasure!

Layla is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

She currently lives with her foster family in Carmichael.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Layla please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Laurie at Lcrystalormsby@gmail.com or 916 799-2040 . If you are unable to reach Laurie please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus cat Rescue (purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
