My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name is Emmie Lou and I am the sweetest gal you'll ever meet!

When I first meet new people I'm a bit shy, but I am ready for snuggles right away! After a little time, I start to build my confidence and my sweet, goofy side comes out!

I'm a very curious girl and love to explore the backyard. Some day I will get one of those bunnies.

I live with a foster brother and sister who are much bigger than me. I love running and playing with them and they are doing a good job of teaching me the ropes. I am submissive and roll over pretty much right away. I would love to live with another dog that likes to play, but could be your only dog too if you promise to play with me and give me lots of activity. I like to run around in my fenced-in backyard when we get the zoomies. I love having a fenced yard but I would probably be just fine without one if we could go for walks.

I'm still learning about walking on a leash. There are so many cool smells that I sometimes zig-zag around to get to them. My foster parents think I'll have it down in no time.

I live with a 3-year-old human foster that I'm not so sure about yet. I love to give face kisses and sometimes it seems like he doesn't like it - weird, right? I would probably do best with kids that are just a bit older than him since my foster parents say I don't realize how strong my kisses come on and I might knock little kids over.

I have access to my foster parent's bedroom at night where the crate is but I've just been sleeping in the big bed cuddling with my parents.

I am just the sweetest girl and love to snuggle. Are you my furever family? I would love to meet you!!

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
