My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Godfrey - Your Perfect Fitness Companion!

Looking for a furry friend to join you on your 2024 fitness journey? Look no further than Godfrey! This 7-year-old dynamo has been at the shelter for five months, eagerly awaiting his forever home. Despite his age, Godfrey is the embodiment of youthfulness - no sophisticated maturity here, just pure fun and games!

Godfrey is your ideal exercise partner, whether you're into hiking, running, or hitting that 10,000-step goal every day. He's fantastic on walks, and he won't stop until you've reached your destination or fitness target. While he may need a bit of work on leash walking and can get a tad mouthy during playtime, his treat motivation makes training a breeze.

After a workout session, Godfrey transforms into a cuddle bug, ready to soak up all the lap time, butt scratches, and face kisses you're willing to share. Check out his videos to witness the magic that is Godfrey - this special dog is waiting to bring joy and energy into your life. Come meet him in person and let the adventures begin!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Each adoption consists of an interview, application, counseling session, and adoption contract. All adoptions are handled on a case-by-case basis, but most adoptions are first-come, first-served, and holds cannot be placed in advance for someone to meet with an animal. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Please see http://www.nevadahumanesociety.org/ for more information including all currently available animals, adoption prices, resources, and events.

More about this shelter

Nevada Humane Society is a non-profit organization whose lifesaving work is made possible through donations. In 2007, NHS became a no-kill shelter and launched a bold effort to help Washoe County become a no-kill community. In 2014, NHS expanded lifesaving efforts to include Carson City. Today, more than 70,000 animals have been placed into loving homes since 2007 and NHS continues to grow, maintaining its status as one of the top communities in the country for saving homeless pets.
