Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our man Cheerio! This little dude has had a rough couple months as his elderly mom had passed away in October. It’s quite apparent he loved her dearly & has been passed around quite a bit since then. He finally landed himself a comfy spot in our rescue group. Cheerio is your typical sassy, sometimes stubborn, Shih Tzu. He’s 8-9 yrs old. He has a lot of personality and lets you know when he demands something or just doesn’t want to do what you want him to do. If you’ve had a Shih Tzu before you would understand. They often have the personality of a teenager, sometimes they are really into you & other times not so much 🤣 This handsome dude enjoys cuddling and gets along well with other dogs. We have not introduced him to any feline friends, but we feel he’d probably do just fine. Cheerio is now ready to move forward in his next step in life of finding a new caregiver. Once comfortable in a new setting, he’s a completely loveable boy-
Key points on Cheerio-
🥛 As an older dog, his party days are behind him. He’s looking for a laid-back home where he can lounge around.
🥛 Cheerio was fed one too many snacks/meals in his former setting, he is overweight! He’s about 20lbs currently🙀 He will need a caregiver who is conscientious of his weight issue and promote him dropping a few pounds. He will lie to you & tell you he’s starving. Don’t believe him…
🥛 Cheerio is not a fan of be picked up frequently. We have a certain way we do it so he accepts it. Therefore he has some boundaries, he doesn’t like to be moved off the couch, etc. His new caregiver will need to be aware & not test his boundaries. We just don’t allow him in the couch in his foster home. The ideal set up would be a ramp for him to get on and off a couch if that was necessary.
🥛 We will only place him with children 12 & up due to him having some boundaries. He wouldn’t enjoy being messed with.
If Cheerio sounds like the lovable, demanding force you need in your life you can apply for adoption by emailing us for an application at -
➡️ Canineliberationleague@gmail.com 🚨
Or visiting our website for an electronic application -
➡️ www.Canineliberationleague.com 🚨
Once we receive a completed application, that is approved, we do a vet check on the selected applicant. If a vet check is passed, we then set up a meet and greet with the adoptable dog. Just because you apply to adopt does not necessarily mean you will be contacted. We are a group of volunteers doing the best we can to save homeless dogs.
Cheerio is current on all his vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, and Bordetella. He is also fecal and heartworm tested, microchipped, and neutered.
