Isabell is a beautiful 8-1/2 year old female Pit Bull Terrier mix who was surrendered by her owner on January 7, 2024 because he was no longer able to take care of his beloved Isabell.
Isabell has a white short smooth coat with subtle black spotting, a patch of black on her left side, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, and black-and-white spotted long floppy ears. Isabell has over-sized large black 'eyebrows' which are incredibly unique and make her truly unforgettable.
Isabell may look familiar to some of our long-time volunteers and HSOV fans who follow our Facebook pages since she originally came to our shelter on January 26, 2018 when she was just 2-1/2 years old. We noted in her description when we posted her photos which were taken on January 27, 2018 that she was painfully thin and weighed just 50.1 lbs. Isabell was spayed on February 14, 2018. When we took updated photos on February 20, 2018, she had gained a few pounds and weighed 66 lbs.
Isabell was listed as a 'Special Needs Dog' at that time because of skin issues, and she has continued to have flare-ups. Isabell was examined by one of our wonderful local veterinarians in mid-January 2024 and is currently being treated with antibiotics.
Her original owner told us that Isabell does NOT do well with children but that she is ok with other dogs and cats.
Isabell had been kept indoors and is housebroken though she does have occasional accidents. Isabell knows how to 'sit' and 'shake'.
These photos of Isabell were taken on January 12, 2024 while she relaxed on soft comfy blankets in our Executive Director's office.
Isabell walks well on a leash and loves belly-rubs.
Isabell was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on January 16, 2024. She weighed 105 lbs that day .. Apologies to Isabell for posting her weight for the whole world to see (frown) since that is a girl's privilege not to divulge that information.
This big girl is looking for a fabulous home where she will once again be loved by someone special.
