Isabell is a beautiful 8-1/2 year old female Pit Bull Terrier mix who was surrendered by her owner on January 7, 2024 because he was no longer able to take care of his beloved Isabell. All of Isabell's photos since her arrival were taken in her favorite safe place (her comfy bed which she enjoys in our Executive Director's office). Those pictures were cute and also heartbreaking at the same time, so we were delighted to have an opportunity to take more flattering 'glamour photos' of Isabell on a sunny afternoon on March 3rd when her favorite person in the whole world (HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers) accompanied her for moral support.
Isabell looked ravishing in a royal purple bandana embellished with paw prints/chewy bones, and she gave us a multitude of her cute facial expressions.
Isabell was initially listed as a 'Special Needs' dog since she had some skin issues (likely due to allergies). Thanks to a change in diet (and a little medication), Isabell's skin is looking (and feeling) so much better than it did two months ago.
Isabell has a white short smooth coat with subtle black spotting, a patch of black on her left side, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, and black-and-white spotted long floppy ears. Isabell has over-sized large black 'eyebrows' which are incredibly unique and make her truly unforgettable.
Her original owner told us that Isabell does not do well with children but that she is ok with other dogs and cats. And Isabell really does do well with other dogs and cats that she has met at HSOV.
Isabell had been kept indoors and is housebroken though she does have accidents. Isabell knows how to 'sit' and 'shake'. She walks well (and gently) on a leash and loves belly-rubs.
Isabell weighed 105 lbs when she stepped on the scales in mid-January 2024 .. Apologies to Isabell for posting her weight for the whole world to see (frown) since that is a girl's privilege not to divulge that information.
This big girl is looking for a fabulous home where she will once again be loved by someone special. And we guarantee that Isabell will put many smiles on your face when you see her cute facial expressions.
How do we love thee Isabell .. Let us count the ways
