My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Lanie is on the smaller side for a Pyr, and would be a great addition to any family wanting a white fluffy butt! She is very gentle for her size and truly just thrives on attention. She is very very loving and is so very happy to be given pets and attention. She sleeps in my room on the floor at night without any accidents! She will wrap her front paws around you to give hugs and it is one of the sweetest things ever! <3
-From her foster family

Have you been wishing for a Pyabear of your very own but haven't been able to commit to a 100+ dog at this time in your life? Maybe you have been wanting another Pyrabear but keep getting thwarted by your husband because you can't take on another 100+ dog? Well, Lanie is your sign that you can, in fact, get yourself another Pyrabear.

Lanie is a 1.5-year-old, 58lb female Great Pyrenees. Sometimes we wonder if this girl is real. She is cuddly. She is super soft. She looks like a stuffed animal. She gives hugs, and not just any hugs, but ones where she wraps her paws around you. She is potty trained. She is good with other dogs. She is truly the most pyrfect girl around and we have no idea who in their right mind ever let this girl go! She is such a sweetheart and we cannot believe that she ended up on the urgent list in the shelter. Whoever let this girl go, really missed out on an absolute gem.

Lanie loves everyone she meets, and will immediately jump up and give hugs as well as cry/whine to tell you hello. She has a very gentle jump and if she could, she would walk behind you wherever you go with her front paws wrapped around your body. Miss the days when your toddler hung on your every step...literally?! Well, you can have that again. This time around they will be just a little fluffier ;) Lanie does great with other dogs, she loves to play with my Pyr, run, wrestle, etc! Lanie has done well with her fosters niece and nephew who are 3 and 5, she is excited to see them but since she is a hugger you have to watch that she doesn't try sneaking some in with the kiddos. She also thinks that if food is at eye level it is an open invitation to share it with the small hoomans. ;) Lanie has not met any purrinators, but given her personality, we believe she would do well after some initial curiosity.

Lanie is very active when her foster family gets home and loves attention. Once she knows they are here to stay, she stretches out on the floor for a good nap. She likes to play with the other dogs, but then again will go right back to a nap. She is a good combination of active and calm. We think she would enjoy going places! Her leash skills need some work, and she would probably do better with a harness. She is happy as long as she is with her human! Possibly with more leash skills, right now her need for being as close as possible to her human usually ends in getting herself all wrapped up around you. Which might have been her goal all along now that we think about it. 🤔 She loves toys, especially bones! We are expecting to see our request to join the "No Toy Left Behind Movement" very soon. When it comes to fetch, we hope you don't expect to get rid of her that easily. She has no interest in leaving your side and would rather be right next to you than chasing down a toy. Nope. Her place is right next to you.

Lanie has good house manners and is potty trained as long as she has a good schedule to follow. She is kennel trained. She does love those tasty shoes or anything that human food has touched! She is still young so she will find joy in chewing just about anything if it is left within her reach so we do recommend puppy-proofing. After all, spring cleaning is not too long away so you might as well get a head start on getting rid of some of that clutter! ;)
