My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***All dogs listed on our website are in private foster homes. To arrange a meet and greet with a dog, you MUST fill out the adoption application so that it can be sent to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a match for the dog. If a dog receives multiple applications, we operate on a best-fit basis, not first come first served.***

**Molly-Moo has stranger danger/leash reactivity. She is looking for a forever home that is up for the challenge of continuing training with her and that understands that she may need management for the rest of her life.** Molly is not a good fit for an apartment or a townhouse. She is looking for a free-standing home with a fenced in backyard.**

Molly-Moo is a wonderful, sweet, smart girl who is house/crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative, sleeps quietly in her crate all night, great snuggler and loves to go places with you! She rides great in the car but will bark when she sees a dog from the car. We disagree with this behavior when she does it and move on. Outside of the car Molly loves other dogs! Molly loves to play with other dogs but can be a bit over the top with enthusiasm for play! She can need a referee occasionally!

Molly has fears. She is a work-in-progress. Molly has had stranger danger around the house and on leash. She has been to a 3-week training course and is still living with the trainer (she LOVES Molly!). The trainer has offered to give Molly continued support after adoption so that Molly can adjust smoothly to a new home! Molly is much better in public on leash now and goes for regular pack walks with other dogs and people. She has even made friends with 2 of the walking adults! Even so, Molly needs continued training and work on her manners around strangers.

Molly has been to coffee shops and restaurants with her trainer. Some visits were more successful than others but she is still learning. The trainer can show you how to set her up for success during walks & at restaurants. She needs a chew bone/toy to occupy her mind and then things go better! Molly is always thinking...that's good and bad.

Molly warms up slowly to strangers and a walk with her is always a good suggestion. She can be shy/scared and a treat goes a long way to gaining her trust! Molly needs a leader. Someone who will correct her when she steps over the line of politeness, and then quickly praise her when she listens. You need to be willing to earn her trust, it takes time (a few days) but it is time-investment that will pay off hugely with Molly's love! Molly is a sweet sweet girl who is more than willing to give her opinion then listens when you tell her enough. She has a good, big heart full of love! Who is ready for a wonderful companion and hiking/walking buddy?

Molly is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, has been dewormed, and is current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $325. If you think she could be the one for you, please apply on our website: www.secondchancenc.org. Thank you!
